SCHEDULE

KIDS WITH CAMERAS

A Film for the Family
Screening: Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 2:00pm at Tillie Lewis Theatre
Free Admission

Following the progress, challenges and triumphs of a group of Autistic children aged 11 to 19, as they attend a film camp hosted by non-profit organization Actors for Autism, and taught by award-winning educator Brad Koepenick. The protagonists’ candid interviews - together with family and camp footage, plus excerpts of their own films, poems, visual art and music - paint a complex, touching picture of their lives. The film takes viewers on an illuminating journey, poignantly demonstrating that creativity is an essential step to connecting the increasing Autistic population with the rest of their - and our - world. The number of Autism cases is accelerating nationwide, having grown ten-fold over the last two decades, and touching as many as 1 in 150 children born today - four times more boys than girls.”

Directed by Alex Rotaru. In English, 52 minutes, USA. Official Selection: Monaco Charity Film Festival. For more information on on this film, click here.
